FEMA Safe Room
Copiah County recently completed a new $3.5 million community safe room, just north of Gallman Road.
The safe room can withstand 200 mile per hour winds, and can hold more than 900 people. During calmer weather, citizens can use it for receptions and other events.
The safe room will also provide the perfect shelter for people in neighboring Claiborne County, in the event of an emergency at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Plant.
